Narrative Research and Some Examples from the Study of Marginalizaton in Teaching

  Freema Elbaz Luwisch 博士

  (以色列海法大学教育学院学习、教学与教师教育系)

In israel today, teaching is under a lot of stress and criticism and teachers feel very under-appreciated. Under the pressures of globalization, there are similar things happening in many parts of the world - intensification, deskilling and so on. We will look at the autobiographies of two Israeli teachers with quite different backgrounds, and see what we can learn from these stories about the role of teachers, the teaching profession, and improvement of teaching, from a consideration of these stories.

Dr. Freema Elbaz Luwisch is an associate professor in the Department of Learning, Instruction and Teacher Education, Faculty of Education at the University of Haifa (tenured since 1992).
