  Enhancing Student Learning in Hypermedia and Online Learning Environments

  讲演人:Prof. James D. Lehman(Professor of Educational Technology at Purdue University) 

  This lecture will report the research done in Educational Technology at Purdue, spanning a number of years, that relates to the design of instruction to promote student self-regulation and motivation in multimedia/hypermedia learning environments. The speaker will also talk about an on-going project related to the use of peer feedback in online discussions. Finally, He will touch on work they have done and are still doing to explore the use of Internet-based video conferencing as a tool to link pre-service teachers with K-12 classrooms.  The speaker James D. Lehman is Professor of Educational Technology and Head of the Department of Curriculum and Instruction in the College of Education at Purdue University.  

  He teaches classes on the educational applications of computers, technology integration in the classroom, interactive multimedia, and distance learning.  His research interests include interactive multimedia design, technology-mediated distance learning, and technology integration in education particularly in the sciences.  He is a co-author of the book Educational Technology for Teaching and Learning, now in its third edition, published by Pearson Education.  He has written numerous articles about the uses of technology in education, and is former associate editor of the Journal of Research in Science Teaching and the Journal of Computers and Mathematics in Science Teaching.  He was the Project Director of P3T3: Purdue Program for Preparing Tomorrow`s Teachers to use Technology, a PT3 implementation project funded by the U. S. Department of Education designed to enhance the preparation of future teachers to use technology.
